Ex Christian and trad wife here. I was abused to the point of near death and life saving surgery. When I first met him he was volunteer in our church and put every spare second he had into “serving” others in the church. He would drive an 8 hr round trip for the church and say he enjoyed doing it because it was him serving God. He doted on my two children as if they were his own. We did outreach together - speaking to homeless drug addicts about Jesus and I saw a man devoted to God & serving the broken and the lost. He assaulted me for the first time on our HONEYMOON 👀

In 12 years only ONE person saw through him and that was a woman I worked with for a few months during the first 6mo we were dating. She warned me and I dismissed her. 6 years post divorce I wrote her an apology dm on Facebook.

But if men have an “awful” ex it wasn’t because THEY chose poorly it’s because she was a manipulative liar… almost like if MEN have a bad relationship they understand the whole concepts of ‘people can lie about who they are’ and the equally devastating follow up of ‘people can change into someone you don’t recognize’ and ‘you don’t divorce who you marry’.

I didn’t give up my career as an engineer for my husband but for my kid. I agree with what your saying but also don’t see a solution where both my child and I win. If I go back to work and stop serving my husband my kid will lose. My husband doesn’t see the value in one of us staying home and earns much more than what I would, so he would never stop working. The Bible says, women submit to their husbands but it also says husbands should love their wives the way Christ loves the church and sacrificed his life for the church. This is the ideal marital dynamic the way it was designed. However, You did your part by serving him, trusting him, and sacrificing yourself but your husband failed you and did not love or protect you. I’m so sorry. I struggle to trust my husband bc I’m afraid what happened to you (and many other women) will happen to me

I'll never understand how people can blame you for your husband's behavior...

My dad just told me "I hope you stop getting yourself into this shit" regarding the abusive relationship I recently got out of. Sure...like I wasnt completely bamboozled, as if he was honest and genuine when he sold me on all his lies and ai should have known better than to believe I found the man of my dreams 💜

so true! I have been married three times. the first two were really good at telling me what I wanted to hear and showing me what they wanted me to see. the truth came out later. I was very skeptical the third time around. I had no intention of ever getting married again. I was never a trad wife, so that is the reason I was able to way away both time and could now if I wanted to. in the case of second marriage (and most dangerous one) I almost ended up in a situation where it was going to hard to get out because of a small child and being out of work with him, but family money got me out.

My mother taught me to never have more kids than I alone can support. She taught me this In the 70s!! It taught me a big and valuable life lesson. All women should teach their daughters this!

I thought I picked a “good one”! My mistake was ignoring my intuition for 32 years until it was beating me over the head. I left with barely any self respect. He let me know who he was, but the love bombing and good days were enough to think he actually loved me. He’s a horrible person. 😢❤️🩹

Just starting seeing your content - isn't it sad and crazy that persons would blame the individual - " You picked a bad one" just relinquishes the person " the bad one" of all responsibility of the crap that they did
Relationships are such a risk wish it were different because you never truly know who you're involve with - " As you said people pretend and very well sometimes"

It’s so unfair to women to view it as their fault, you can know someone for years before you get a true view of who they actually are. By the time you have it figured out it’s too late. :/
