@sidehustlereview: Affiliate links aren't the problem. I make money through them too. The actual glitch is what a specific type of video does with them: overhype the thumbnail, overpromise the title, then keep the content vague enough that you get pushed into a funnel where the creator's real incentive is your click, not your outcome. That's the shift. Old social media worked because the end user actually walked away with something useful. Now the system can be gamed so the creator gets paid and you feel like you got value, without actually getting it. On KDP specifically, it's real. People are genuinely pulling in up to $20,000 a month with it. But not from one AI-generated book and a prayer. It comes from testing volume, publishing multiple low content books, not AI-written ones, until you find a vein of demand a certain book type can fill, and then filling it consistently. If you want to actually test this yourself: pick one low content category, publish 5 to 10 variations in it before you judge the model. One book tells you nothing. Volume is the data.
