@theworkermouse: Here we go! 🧻 I’ve got so many projects on the go, I’m torn between what I’ll use this batch of paper for📚🎨🖌️ Here’s some details about the making process: I always count the sheets of old used paper I am going to use. This helps to know how much sizing ingredient to add and to keep record of the outcome so that I can easily make the same again. This time I used 30 sheets of A4 acid free paper that was printed or drawn on. I cut them up, added water and blended into pulp. Next I added the sizing ingredients: for every 10 sheets I add 100ml of PVA glue. I also add some potato starch per batch I use a mould and deckle to pull the sheets from the bath and hang them up to dry Once dry, they are ready to peel off their couching sheets Finally, they are pressed for a further 24 hours before being ready to use! For context for those confused in the comments on why they are making paper out of paper. They are taking paper that has been written/printed on (basically just used paper that no longer serves a purpose and would otherwise be tossed) and creating fresh new paper that is ready to be used again. It’s recycling at home, They also don’t need to go out and ever buy paper again since they can just continuously reuse the paper they have if they desire to which would save money in the process. Good pros with the only con being time taken however it’s not time in which you are actively working (time of paper trying about 1-5 days depending on region and temp). Since it’s not time you are spent actively working then it’s not a big time loss at all unless you needed paper asap.
