@marinaaikido: Old-School Kubishime Waza: The "Pull Up" Rule with Meido Moore Shihan (Part 2) 🥋⚔️ The second and final installment in our deep-dive series analyzing traditional, old-school responses to Kubishime (rear choke/strangling attacks). In this technical breakdown, Meido Moore Shihan shifts into a much more stable and anchored position, exposing the fatal flaws most practitioners make when trying to escape a heavy lock from behind. Shihan explains that once you secure the initial response, the movement turns into a pure grappling encounter with multiple martial solutions ("Whatever you like"). However, the absolute key to success lies in two non-negotiable principles: executing a decisive Atemi (preliminary strike) to disrupt the attacker's focus, followed by a powerful, deep step forward. Crucially, Shihan corrects a massive common mistake where people collapse their structure and go downward. Going down destroys your leverage and invites counter-pressure. Instead, the core principle is to pull straight UP, finishing the structural breakdown from a high position of dominance. From there, Shihan demonstrates three brutal variations: transitioning into a Sokumen Iriminage line, delivering a decisive strike, and executing a powerful high-amplitude throw by capturing the head and utilizing a precise rear-leg sweep to drive the opponent flat onto their back. 📹 Video archive curated, restored & edited by Marina. 🔔 Subscribe and follow to support the historical archive and join our global Budo community! #marinaaikido #aikido #meidomoore #budo #koryu
