I've been welding for 40 years. I don't think i've ever dragged my nozzle, i've always pushed my nozzle.

OK , mig is not the same tensile strength as 7018 , but the fill up is a " flush weld fast pass with higher amperage / feed speed . the capping is hotter , and wider and has more strength due to extra time , the root pass is basic run .

the comments crack me up. these supposed welders dont realize that automated welded is done just like this. those weld pass every test there is. when I went to Lincoln welding school I was taught this way. my bend coupons all passed. but I used the spray arc method for the filler. I got my pipe cert with stick, tig, and mig. theres a place for stick and mig. production welding is mig
