March marked my one year since I left the only home I knew for 23 years and moved to Los Angeles. I didn’t move because everything was perfect—I moved because I had to. I was in a toxic and abusive relationship that broke me down to a place I never thought I’d reach. Leaving wasn’t easy, but it saved my life. This year has been everything at once—healing, chaos, growth, loneliness, excitement, pain, and real happiness. Somewhere in all of it, I found sewing. Turning nothing into something. And the beauty is that I’m still figuring out where it’s taking me. I’ve met incredible people who reminded me what love and support can look like. I’ve also met people who tried to take advantage of me, and I’ve had to learn how to stand my ground and protect myself. There were times I felt completely lost. Like I didn’t even know who I was anymore. But little by little, I started finding myself again. Right now, I’m not exactly where I want to be—and that’s hard to admit. I feel overwhelmed sometimes, wondering what comes next and hoping I don’t let myself or the people I love down. But if this year has taught me anything, it’s that change is possible. Growth is real. And choosing yourself can change everything. Now, I’m learning how to live by myself. And that means trusting myself enough to keep going, even when I don’t have all the answers. This is my reminder: I didn’t come this far just to go back. (P.s. I tried to get majority of videos of me smiling just to remind myself how happy I know I can be 😌) #healing
