I LOVE when you post about little interactions like this. I'm often feeling discouraged like theres not enough kindness left in this world anymore. I had a very similar experience today! I was dropping off some food and talked to some older ladies, as I walked off I could hear them talking abt how polite I was and it rlly made me feel warm <3

when i worked at a retirement home they genuinely LOVED everything about my style , they’d all always comment on the long black nails or ask what my tattoos mean , they loved loved my big eyeliner and the lady’s loved my jewelry so much one of them ripped my earrings straight out to get a closer look (obvi on accident lmao) they were some of my favorite i ever met and made me feel so interesting to them

I was so shocked when I travelled abroad in countries where there was no communism until the 90s, old people are SO nice and progressive(in a way). I wish I grew up around them instead of the traumatised and close minded 50+ yo in my country

i love talking to people when i worked at a clothing shop i’d have old ladies come up to me complimenting my piercings and saying they’d “never seen that before!” and that they looked cool, even had a small child point out my bridge piercing whilst checking a family out once and the grandma started talking to me about it and it was a lovely experience!!
