Mace Windu returns. Mace is NOT the same Mace we saw in the prequels. He is much more unforgiving, much more raw and powerful. THIS is prime mace. According to lore, he always had the dark side in him, and it was his ability to channel that darkness and control it, that made him so powerful. Well, now he's using a lot more of it and unapologetically so. The jedi failed. He failed. He doesn't know where Master Yoda is but his mission is to kill Vader, then the EMPEROR and save the Jedi the Empire has captured -to torture and run tests on for Palpatine's experiments. He's Mace untamed. Shattterpoint is heightened, and so is Vaapad. He is extremely dangerous. The time for a Senate hearing is over, he does not hesitate, he shows no mercy to the Sith. As for Vader...that's the real story. Anakin is Vader's kryptonite. Who reminds Vader of Anakin more than anyone? Obi-Wan and Master Windu. The conflict within is so heightened with Mace there, causing Vader to be so in his head, fighting internally just as much as he will externally. He feels like that little boy again standing before Mace for approval, validation, and permission. He also blames Mace for EVERYTHING that held him back. He was the highest chain of command and Yoda allowed him to handle most decisions. Mace is highly intelligent as he is powerful. He knows Anakin's mind and he will exploit it until Skywalker is broken. He didn't arrive to the fight until the end because he was looking for something...something that he will lead the fight with Vader to. To break his soul. End him. Get to the EMPEROR and finish the job. Save the Jedi and then find Master Yoda and Kenobi. Vader will have to come to terms with who he was vs who he has now become. That's the real test. Can Vader win the hardest battle he's ever faced? The one in his mind and soul will throttle his powers as Mace and the Jedi prod and break him down, finally leading the fight to his dead wife's tomb...
