@relationship.r.e.e.l: #creatorsearchinsights Needing space after an argument can be a healthy way to regulate your emotions — but when does taking space become emotional withdrawal? In relationships, conflict isn’t always about who is right or wrong. Sometimes the bigger question is what happens after the disagreement. If your partner regularly needs two or three days before they can speak to you again, would you see that as healthy emotional regulation or disconnection? Where would you draw the line? @Busi_cake_tutorials @Sammsy #selfawareness #therapytok #HealthyRelationships #RelationshipBoundaries

My ex used to do this. This was one of the many reasons we didn't work out. It was avoidance and him hoping we could carry on without discussing anything. Issues upon issues.

it's unhealthy but sometimes people can't help it... open communication is best, no matter how hard it is

It’s unhealthy and it gives room for other things, especially when you start thinking about what he will be doing for those 2-3days.

I personally couldn't thrive in a relationship like that, that would be so triggering for me... absolutely not!!

Also look at the pattern rather than one incident. A couple occasionally taking a day or two apart after an unusually intense argument isn’t necessarily concerning. But regularly going 2–3 days without speaking after disagreements, with no agreed cooling-off period or attempt at repair, isn’t a healthy way of resolving conflict.
