@wxdmkeyz: Stop compressing vocals like this. 🎚️ A compressor isn’t there to simply make your vocals “louder.” The goal is dynamic control—reducing the gap between the loudest and quietest parts so the vocal sits consistently in the mix. Try this approach: • Start with a moderate ratio, around 3:1–4:1 • Set the threshold so you’re getting roughly 3–6 dB of gain reduction on louder phrases • Use a slower attack if you want to preserve the vocal’s initial punch • Adjust the release so the compressor recovers naturally with the performance • Then use makeup gain to bring the level back up The golden rule: don’t chase a specific number. Listen to what the compressor is doing to the vocal. Compression should make the vocal feel controlled, stable and intentional—not lifeless. 🎛️ Mix smarter. Don’t just add more plugins. #MusicProduction #MixingTips #Compression #AudioEngineering #FLStudio
