High Chief Chukwudi Nwaoka is a well-known traditionalist and teacher of core Igbo culture. Through his teachings, he continues to draw attention to the indigenous traditions, history, beliefs, values, and identity of the Igbo people. In this presentation, he highlights important aspects of Nteje history and cultural identity, including the three major villages of Nteje, the traditional religious worldview of Nteje people, and the values that have shaped the community over generations. He also emphasizes the hardworking nature of Nteje people, their God-given talents, determination, resilience, and ability to contribute meaningfully wherever they find themselves. Another important quality highlighted is the hospitality of Nteje-Abogu people—a tradition of welcoming visitors, respecting relationships, and maintaining strong communal bonds. Understanding Nteje means understanding not only its geographical identity, but also the history, traditions, spirituality, work ethic, talents, hospitality, and communal values that have been passed from one generation to another.
