Important Notes: - Anything that is not a sin can still be a personal conviction (Romans 14). Apologies I should have made that clear in the video. - Clarification: Having questions/doubts sometimes is normal as a Christian, but a constant hardened heart is not Faith. - Sorry one more to clarify the work one :) Scripture doesn't condemn needing help, it condemns being unwilling to work when your circumstances allow you to and expecting others to do it all for you. Note what Paul actually says: unwilling to work, not unpaid work - raising your kids is work 😊 (2 Thessalonians 3:6-15) You can’t earn your way to Heaven by being a good person (Ephesians 2:8-9). The standard is Perfection, and we all fall short and make mistakes (Matthew 5:48, Romans 3:23). But Jesus Christ lived a perfect sinless life and died on the cross for our sins so we could be forgiven, and that counted for you too (Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 3:18). When you put your Faith in him, his perfect record gets credited to you so you can have eternal life because of what he did we don’t earn it we don’t deserve it, it is a free gift from God (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 4:5, Philippians 3:9) We are born sinners in our hearts just like we are born with our eye color or hair color, it’s inherited (Romans 5:12). With Faith you are born again, get a renewed heart, and receive The Holy Spirit so sin no longer has power over you (John 1:12-13, Titus 3:5, Romans 6:14). To sum this all up: Christianity isn't a checklist, it's a relationship with Jesus. You don't obey to get Him. You obey because you have Him, not through white knuckling your way through life, the discipline in your own strength, but through the power of The Holy Spirit within you (John 17:3, Galatians 5:16, Philippians 2:13)
