I've always interpreted their relationship as (my own personal) allegory for gr0oming. it quite literally fits the definition of grooming. a lot of people pass it off as "mommy issues" because its an adult woman doing it to an adult-presenting man, and unfortunately those cases arent taken seriously a lot. in reality, connor is not an adult. he has the physical and (most) mental aspects of one, but he doesnt have the experience of one. he's practically been sheltered for his short life, being groomed by amanda and cyberlife into being their tool. i feel like you can really tell by his stunted social behaviors compared to the other androids you play and interact with. its so upsetting to me and i could go into it for actual hours
