Today is the day the new EU EPR/PPWR rules start applying, and while many countries are still figuring out the national implementation, the impact on small businesses is already huge. If you’re willing to help, here’s what you can do: ✍️ Sign the petition on Change.org — it’s in my EPR/PPWR story highlight. 🇪🇺 Send feedback to the European Parliament to support efforts to challenge/amend the law — also in my EPR/PPWR highlight. 🛍️ Support local and small businesses in your country more than ever — if your budget allows, of course. For many of us, this isn’t just about packaging. Most of us already use recycled materials for it anyways. We’re not only risking custom, unique handmade products disappearing — we’re making it harder for small businesses to exist at all. The majority of EU micro businesses with 1 employee only are women-owned, and many marginalized groups choose self employment to make life work for their needs when the world is STILL not ready for them. We’re not only wiping unique handmade products from existence, this is also a conservative political push in hiding.
