Im not sure if this helps but a few cinemas do relaxed screenings for kids with autism exc which have the lights on, no ads and lower noise if this helps. They are usually once a month but im assuming anybody can attend them. He may find them a bit better as hes able to move around during them too x

My husband and I had to leave the theater the other night because we could only catch the last showing (listed to start at 10:30) and he had to be up at 4:30 am the next day and we had an hour ride home. We left at 11:20 and they were still playing ads and previews with no sign of starting the movie anytime soon. It’s absolutely ridiculous
