@hadfooty: Disposal count can lie. Your method doesn't. Recruiters aren't looking at your disposal count and making a judgement on whether or not to draft you. Getting touches isn't the same as playing your role. An "inside mid" racking up uncontested ball on the outside isn't actually doing the job of an inside mid - no matter how good the number looks. Recruiters are watching method: are you winning the ball the way your role actually demands? Contested ball. Hard-ball gets. The stuff that doesn't always show up as a flashy stat but tells recruiters everything about how you compete. So the real question isn't just "how many touches did I get?" it's am I executing the method my role requires? At our upcoming FREE Seminar in WA 'The Metrics behind AFL/AFLW Selection", Simon Dalrymple (St Kilda FC) and Darryn Fry (Fremantle FC) break down the AFL/AFLW-ready benchmarks recruiters use to separate output from method, role by role - so you can see exactly where you stack up. 📍 Check the link in our bio for your FREE ticket before they sell out!
