They raped our mothers, our sisters, and our daughters, using sexual violence as a weapon of war. They burned entire villages to ashes, throwing children into fire, and shooting those who tried to escape. This was not a conflict. This was not a “clearance operation.” It was a genocide — carefully planned, brutally carried out, meant to erase the Rohingya from our own homeland. The perpetrators — the Burmese Army and the Rakhine extremist mobs — are war criminals, rapists, murderers, butchers of humanity. They are the hands that carried out the dirtiest crimes of our century. And yet, 9 years later, they remain free, shielded by a world too silent, too cowardly, too political to deliver justice. 25 August is not just a day of memory — it is a day of warning. We, the Rohingya, cannot and will not forget. Our wounds are still bleeding. Our people are still stateless, scattered in refugee camps, waiting and crying for justice. To the world: your silence is complicity. Your delay is denial of our humanity. Justice delayed is justice denied. We call on everyone — Rohingya, Muslims, oppressed people, and allies of justice worldwide — to stand with us on this day.
