I’m gonna be so honest as someone who has lost 100lbs I didn’t want to wear torrids clothes when I was plus size & I def don’t want to wear them now that I’m a size 8. They’re really missing the mark as a plus size store 😖🤦🏼♀️

Torrid needs new management. They absolutely do NOT need to carry sizes under 14. And for the record too, not everyone wants a frigging crop top! I am tall and have a long torso. I can't wear any of the Festi line because it's all cropped!! 🤬

This might sound crazy but I fully expect torrid to start carrying less of their super plus sizes until they do away with some of them. They already carry less of the larger sizes in store. I wear a between a (torrid) size 4/5 in shirts and 5 in jackets and 26/28 in pants and unless I get there right when they put stock out I rarely can find stuff in my size. It just feels like torrid doesn’t want to be a plus size clothing store anymore. Like because body positivity has fallen out of fashion torrid wants to try and rebrand as a clothing store with extended sizes instead of the plus size brand it’s been.

i used to work at torrid and when i did, we were consistently sold out of sizes 1-5. rarely ANYBODY bought size 00 or 0. size 6 was online only and i would have lots of customers asking us to order clothes for them in a size 6. why did we carry 00 and 0 when they weren't selling, but not stocking more of 1-5 and not stocking 6 at all?

In the olden days (I’m 52) straight sizes went to 16 (sometimes 18) and plus sizes started at 14. The cuts were different between straight and plus sizes. I can’t fathom any need for a plus size retailer to carry an 8, 10, or 12!

Torrid began as the Hot Topic for plus size people. They’ve gone so downhill since then. When I was my fittest, I was a size 10-12 and never once thought I was plus size.

Torrid is doing vanity sizing, as someone who's shopped there for over a decade. Their size 10, is now a 12. So their new "8" is actually the old 10. Big change over the last couple months. The Festi line is also notoriously bigger made

I might be okay with this if they prioritize having their largest sizes in store over sizes 8-12, and if they hire super fat models instead of size 6 models wearing oversized 8-10. But they won't.

Torrid is going to be the cause of their own demise. Carrying a size 8 as “plus size”, you can’t return shoes to stores anymore, and I found out from an employee that only one store per region gets to have swim in store. The whole point of torrid was to have a physical store where plus size people could shop and try on things but now it’s getting to a point where it’s not any better than a straight size store carrying “extended sizes” online.

I bet those size 8 pieces will be available in store while Torrid size 6 (30) is only available online. Someone who wears a size 8 can shop and try on anywhere, size 6(30) has very limited options.

I can almost understand 10/12 simply because the straight size boutique Nextdoor to us excludes those sizes but otherwise I don’t think it’s necessary and I cannot imagine why a size 8 is needed. And yes if I bring in size 10/12 I have less money to bring in sizes from 14+ so I wonder how this impacts the in store offerings when rack space and budgets are limited. 💕
