I was spending less than $1000 a month when I stayed there, without issue. If you're spending more than that, you're definitely not eating like a local, and spending money on stuff you dont need.

I’m 24 from America and it’s not as cheap as I was expecting. If you like to party and get wild it’s a bit pricey, Pattaya, Phuket, and Bangkok have become tourist traps from what I’ve seen being here the last 4 months. I took $10,000 for 6 months and have been consistently hitting my budget but it’s still cheaper than the US and will be a trip to remember.

It depends where you stay. If you go up north to chiang mai or chiang rai or down to Koh Chang, you can still stay within a budget but once you go to popular islands you are finished 😅
