President Bola Tinubu In Major Trouble, As Olusegun Obasanjo, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Goodluck Jonathan, Professor Wole Soyinka And Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Receive "Marching Order" To Prove That They Do Not Support And Endorse A Former Cocaine And Heroin Pusher As Nigeria's Leader, By Ending Their "Graveyard Silence", And Publicly Condemning President Bola Tinubu's Ongoing Drug Trafficking-Related Case In A United States Of America District Court, Now!!! Pressure is mounting on Nigeria’s Elder Statesmen, to speak on the renewed United States of America, USA, Court proceedings involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; a development that strengthens the calls for transparency, ahead of the 2027 general elections, especially the very crucial Presidential election. The Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum has asked former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Prof. Wole Soyinka and Chief Emeka Anyaoku, to end what it called their “graveyard silence”, on the now international matter. The demand follows a Freedom of Information Act, FOIA, case in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. In a FBI declaration filed on August 28, 2026, the Bureau stated that the records sought were compiled as part of an investigation involving multiple individuals, in connection with drug-trafficking offences, and that President Tinubu is a subject of that investigation. The group was clear on the legal point. “This does not amount to a conviction, nor should anyone pretend that an investigation is proof of guilt”, the Yoruba Ronu President, Chief Akin Malaolu, said. “But it is unquestionably a matter that should concern every well-meaning Nigerian”, he added, noting that, such questions go “directly to issues of transparency, integrity and the international standing of the Nigerian State”. Malaolu noted that Obasanjo was President when Tinubu served as Lagos State Governor; and asked whether the Federal Government then did “everything within its powers to properly establish the facts”. He linked the silence of some Elders to speculations around President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, warning that, it “inevitably raises questions about whether political considerations are being allowed to compete with principle”. The Forum also said that Nigerians “deserve clarity on the issues arising from the US legal proceedings”, and should not treat it as a routine political dispute. For the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and its 2027 Presidential Candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the US case reinforces their messaging: That Nigerians need a Leadership committed to openness in governance and public finance. Yoruba Ronu is asking for a full lawful disclosure of the relevant records. Whether Obasanjo, Abdulsalami, Jonathan, Soyinka and Anyaoku respond, will test the influence of Nigeria’s Elder Statesmen on issue of integrity. For now, the pressure has moved from a US District Courtroom to Abuja; and to the question of what a sitting Nigerian President owes the public, in terms of transparency. #AtikuIsForThePeople #TheAtikuMovement
