Just wanted to share another perspective as someone who has actually been there. I feel like this video and audio make it seem a bit more like a funny “go through all this just to get a drink” experience, but that’s not really the intention of the place. It’s not meant to be a cafe. It’s more of an immersive exhibition/museum experience, and the drink is simply something given to guests. In fact, I received mine before the experience even ended. When I visited, I was going through a very difficult period in my life mentally, and this exhibition genuinely left a strong impact on me. The whole message is about reflecting on life, being more mindful, and realizing how many things we worry about won’t matter in the end. It reminds us not to take life and the people around us for granted. A really touching thing I learned from one of the guides was that many of the staff are elderly women who previously struggled to find employment. The creator intentionally hired them and gave them meaningful work, which is why many of them speak so fondly of him. Of course everyone can have their own opinion, but I hope people don’t misunderstand the exhibition as just a meme or gimmick. The message behind it is actually quite meaningful. 🙂
