@manlet.neddy: Andrew Gary Johns (born 19 May 1974), also known by the nickname “Joey”, is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played during the 1990s and 2000s. He is widely considered one of the greatest rugby league players of all time. Johns spent his entire first-grade club career with the Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League, playing a club-record 249 games. He captained the Knights and was a key member of both of the club’s premiership-winning teams, in 1997 and 2001. At international level, Johns represented Australia in 21 Test matches, including appearances at two World Cups and on a Kangaroo tour. He also represented the New South Wales Blues in 23 State of Origin matches, captaining the side to a series victory in 2003. He shares the record for the most man-of-the-match awards by a New South Wales player, with four, alongside Peter Sterling. Johns also represented Country Origin in 1995 and 2003.
