Don’t take the Shinkansen to Kyoto… ….ride this train instead! We’ve been on hundreds of trains in Japan and I’m here to tell you this one is by far one of the most special! The best part is, it runs between 2 of Japan’s most popular cities - Kyoto and Osaka. 📍 It’s called the Kyo Train Garaku But you’ll need to plan your trip around it because it only runs a few times a day on weekends and public holidays. And because we don’t want you to miss out… ✨ HERE’S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ✨ ⏰ Arrive at least 30 mins early. It’s popular with locals and there are no reserved seats, so getting there early gives you the best chance of grabbing a good one 🚅 The journey takes around 45-50 mins, so yes, it’s slower than the Shinkansen, but this is definitely one of those times where the journey is part of the experience 🚫 It’s not covered by the JR Pass, so you’ll need to pay the regular Hankyu fare 🎟️ No pre-booking needed.
