It’s a win-win for Japan and the US. Europe is upset about the end of its freeloading days

this is not the whole story and misleading. Japan would take huge losses if it dumped Treasuries, a weak Yen encourages exports, which is a good thing etc.

Japan isn't going to dump bonds. They need the money from those interests.

Bessent proved he’s willing to play dirty. Will Europe retaliate by pushing harder for the digital euro to drop US reliance?

This intervention is only temporary - sooner rather than later, something needs to give, or the whole thing will break. The question is: who will correct the course, and when?

The euro has as many if not more issues with its currency. The dollar the has issues as well but if you study currency, the world is hook on the dollar & so many economies are dependent on the dollar. The whole thing is a mess but so are most countries currencies

most bonds are held by US holders. you'd think they would be absorbed especially if the interest is a bit higher

Japan is the biggest holder of US debt. The US economy will collapse if Japan dumps its US debt. The US has absolutely no choice but to bail out Japan. The US will suffer if they don't do this. It's also worth remembering that it's Trumps tariffs and policies that is driving Japans currency downwards
