actually I think I have an explanation for the frozen yogurt thing. It used to mean the same thing as in English, then people shortened it to just yogurt, and later when the fruit chocolate yogurt mixture became a thing, and was also primarily sold on ice cream shops, it was called a frozen yogurt to distinguish them, and was later shortened to just "frozen"

Tights come from British English. They conquered us. Like chips for fries. Very common in Israel to say chips and mean fries.

Israelis use the word סימפתי to mean something like “warm,” which isn’t too far off from “sympathetic,” but you would never say sympathetic in English the way they say סימפתי in Hebrew

It’s an army thing. They look for a shorter way to say everything. Frozen instead of frozen yoghurt, duty instead of duty free, face instead of FaceTime…etc. And it’s even more exaggerated if the word is English because anyway it’s just a sound without any meaning to them.
