Easiest way is to ask for a separate check. The cheap person, ordering the high priced everything, expecting you to "split" is wrong. There's one in every every crowd.

so true. also, if you are planning the dinner and inviting everyone, it is your duty to be sure split checks are even an option as some restaurants do not do this. then people who assumed the check would be split freak out and someone has to do alot of math and exchange venmos etc it is so messy

as soon as i take drinkborders, i ask if everybody is all on one check or separate. it takes all the confusion out when everyone wants to split at the end on a busy friday night
