And no, this is not just another supplement myth. These were real prescription drugs, tested in real cardiovascular outcome trials. I am a cardiologist. I have watched patients chase a lab number instead of fixing the disease behind it. 🩺 Here is what the trials actually showed. ✅ ACCORD-LIPID (fenofibrate): hazard ratio 0.92. No real benefit. ✅ PROMINENT (pemafibrate): hazard ratio 1.03. Zero event reduction. LDL rose 12.3%. ✅ STRENGTH (omega-3s): hazard ratio 0.99. Stopped early for futility. Same story, three times. Lower the triglyceride number, nothing happens to the artery. 🔬 Then semaglutide entered the picture. It never targeted triglycerides directly. Yet it cut cardiovascular events by 26%, because it treated the metabolic disease driving the number up in the first place. That is the real story. Triglycerides are a marker. They are not a target. ❤️ Bottom line: Chasing a lab value is not treatment. Fixing insulin resistance, obesity, and metabolic dysfunction is treatment. Three trials failed by treating the number. One drug succeeded by treating the disease. The question is no longer how low can we push triglycerides. The question is what is driving them up.
