I have one it's not made by Allison gm just has the rights to put the name on the truck to help sell them. the 10 speed is Ford technology GM took it and fucked it up with shitty valves and what ever else their engineers thought would be good for an already working transmission.

from a transmission rebuild tech from GM, they have absolutely nothing incommon. It's a completely different transmission. GM labeled their 10 speeds as allisons until allison found out and sued them. They came to an agreement. The 10 speed is barely better if at all from the 8 speed which from my time never was put into a real diesel truck
