@weeklyhistory: From D-Day to Disco: How a WWII Landing Craft Became a Nightclub LCT 7074 was a World War II tank landing craft that took part in the D-Day landings. After D-Day, it continued ferrying supplies to France and Belgium, helping to support the Allied forces as they advanced through Europe. In 1948, LCT 7074 was presented to the Master Mariners’ Club of Liverpool to serve as their floating headquarters. Originally docked at Albert Dock, it later moved to Salthouse Dock and Canning Dock during the late 1960s and 1970s. In 1968, the vessel was converted into a nightclub called Clubship Landfall. The club eventually closed in the 1980s, and the vessel was sold. In 2010 LCT 7074 eventually sank at its moorings in Birkenhead. In 2014, the vessel was salvaged by the National Museum of the Royal Navy.
