It ain't glorious though.A lot of people came back traumatized because of seeing people die beside em.Thats the case for every war and dispute like this.My grandma's brother or my somewhat uncle is pretty traumatized because of this revolution,he saw men and friends get their heads blown off beside him and I think he was in the army at that time,they didn't really have a choice but to obey the commands or they would be fucked one way or another.
