Peter is kind of naive and basically blindly trusts damage control which automatically makes Jean believe that he is the enemy. His only ”friend” at the start of the movie is a cop and this version of Spider-Man is basically known for being well liked by the authorities. I don’t think it’s wrong for her to assume that he is as much of a bad guy as anyone else working for the people she knows kidnapped her sister. She’s smart but also blinded by rage and not looking to explain herself. Even if she did try to tell Peter about what happened he would still try to keep her from harming and using other people to get to her sister and she’s doesn’t want to risk having to navigate that. It’s easier for her to just get him out of the way so she can do whatever she needs to

She couldn’t get into his mind to control him and to know him, so inevitably she couldn’t decide if he’s in on it with the government too or not. She didn’t want to risk losing her sister but unfortunately it was too late

maybe I'm just neurotic but I often don't tell the people I trust most what I'm thinking or planning bc I don't want to involve them, I worry they'll complicate things further for me, or any number of other stupid, human reasons for concealing things from them. Even if she got a glimpse of Peter's mind, even if she could maybe trust him, she can't be sure how he'll react and she was in a time crunch to save her sister.

they need him not to know to drive the plot.. if he knew then it would just be him saving someone pretty normal..everyday thing.. the needed him not to know so all those things would happen..without that the movies would be kinda not as dramatic
