Nursing homes are horrible. Every single one of them-especially in Louisiana. Louisiana nursing homes have had some of the lowest ratings in the country for as long as I can remember. They are terrible. Money should follow the person because it’s way cheaper to keep someone in their own home instead of a nasty nursing homes.

I don't understand why people who CHOOSE to work in these facilities caring for the elderly/kids go and mistreat them. If you can't handle them/have empathy, don't work these fcking jobs!! It's so damn simple! This is absolutely disgusting.

Do they have money, grants, and federal/state aid, but it’s not going towards staffing and facility maintenance? Sounds like they might need to be audited.

I work in surgery and when we get patients from the va nursing home it is so so sad. Louisiana does not take care of their veterans AT ALL

Please let us know everything you find out and make it as public as you can, spread it far and wide, maybe it’ll scare the other ones too into taking better care of their patience. I’m so sorry for this man — people in nursing homes are at the mercy of their caregivers to notice things like this and take care of them. It’s not like they’re 30 years old and can make the decision themselves to call for an appointment to get it helped and healed. They’re just like children, they rely on someone to completely care for them. People who turn their head the other way had a special place in hell I believe.

Thank you. This is something that should have been done a long time ago. I really believe there needs to be much deeper investigations and background checks in nursing homes and daycare centers. The people caring for our most vulnerable—especially small children and the elderly—have such an important responsibility. Unfortunately, some people have the attitude of, “I don’t get paid enough to care,” and that is simply not acceptable when you’re entrusted with someone’s child or an elderly loved one. These jobs require people who genuinely have compassion, patience, integrity, and a big heart. I also believe that people who work with the most vulnerable should have strong morals and values and truly care about doing what is right. These families are trusting them with the people they love most, and that trust should never be taken lightly.
