@roxannesreality: Day 12 of the Lindsay Clancy trial took a major turn during the cross-examination of Massachusetts State Trooper Daniel Lawlor. Investigators had discussed a theory that psychiatrist Dr. Paul Zeizel planted the idea that Lindsay should tell her husband she heard voices commanding her to **** the children. Under questioning from defense attorney Kevin Reddington, Lawlor acknowledged there was no investigative basis for that theory and that he personally did not hear the conversation between Zeizel and Lindsay. That does NOT prove Lindsay heard voices. It does NOT prove the insanity defense. But it does raise a serious question about how a highly damaging theory about the defense originated and why investigators were discussing it without evidence supporting it. And considering the Massachusetts State Police detective unit investigating Plymouth County homicides is assigned directly to the District Attorney’s Office, the optics matter.
