no, it would have never been the case, as alicia longbottom wouldn't be offered to step aside to survive. bc of the intervention of snape, as he expressed his love for lily to voldemort, the dark lord told lily to step aside, he will spare her life. as lily choose to die, then the ancient spell by lily was created, giving the ultimate protection against voldemort.
