I don’t know if you’ve ever read this but it came to mind when I heard you talk about your china and memories of your grandma. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 and told they could guarantee six months or six years of life. At that time, the life expectancy for Non-Hodgkins lymphoma was five years or less. I decided to use the good dishes, burn the decorative candle, wear the dress I reserved for church, and do so many new things I had never attempted before. What was I saving things for? You can’t take them with you. And most of our children don’t value those special things because they dont have the memories attached to them that we do. My mother was extremely abusive to me so anything she had meant nothing. But my daddy was the absolute best and I cherish each little reminder of him. Sorry such a long post but might I suggest you eat dinner on that plate and ice cream in that bowl, maybe even friendship tea in the cup. Be blessed beautiful lady. I so look forward to your posts each day. Oh and I’ve been in remission for 15 years this September. Praise God. ❤️❤️❤️

My Grandmother was my best friend, she was also killed in a car accident. A 21 yr old cop was going 120 mph just because he could, not on a call, hit her 2 blocks from her house. She had just left my house. I was blessed to get her dishes, they're just Corelle, but I treasure them.💜

I remember when my grandmother passed. I also didn't think a day would come where I wished id kept a dish or 2.the clearing of the house happened too soon following her passing.shock I guess. and I remember eating captain crunch out of the box while watching Saturday morning cartoons 🥰
