It also wasn’t at all like the hunger games. The kids were not sacrificed. It is more similar to other athletic competitions to promote the military/country/ partiotisim well authoritarianism is rising.

The idea for The Hunger Games came from a 1999 book by Koushun Takami, which was made into a movie called Battle Royale in 2000. Suzanne Collins just reworked someone else’s ideas. I love both but she did not come up with the concept at all.

Anybody else notice how past movies are coming to life? Minority Report, iRobot, The Hunger Games and now the movie 2073. If you only watch the movie trailer to 2073 you will be stunned.

The resurgence of political rock,the shows we're seeing (think Arcane, for example), the movies (Sinners, for example), books... all of it has been a miniature Renaissance of Very Good Art™️.
