It’s not really a paradox, that’s a inaccurate example of how people connect. For example I have 6 clusters of friends; my family in South Carolina, my coworkers, my super smash brothers group, my karaoke group, my political group & my bar crawl group. Let’s say each group has 20 people in it and in this scenario I have only witnessed 5 people total who overlap so that is 110 people who I only know from one group or another. I did the math and at layer 5 I have double earths population, that’s not even counting people with insanely large friend groups and/or famous people who know hundreds of people who are known by thousands of people
