@thotline_news: 12th August 2026 - Just my opinion. The fundementals of Farage's campaign don't really work anymore and that's part of why he's struggling.... #nigelfarage #reformuk #farright ##countbinface #andyburnham

with the downfall of reform you have to then ask the question, where will these voters turn to? especially since restore aren't gaining as much traction anymore especially after the whole merging with reform debacle. either there will be the same sort of party arise with similar slogans, or people will move towards the tories again

unfortunately for them, the only path for scaremongering is to incite misery. Once someone associates you with being on a mission to turn everything into misery, then claim you are a totally flawless angel, the tide begins to turn. Nobody wants a party proper around.

It feels very similar to what happened with our conservative party in Canada. PP built his whole platform on bitching about Trudeau, but then Trudeau resigned, and then his replacement enacted PP's like one real policy idea. The cons completely spiraled out of control after that.

It's interesting how out of everything the £5mill is the one thing he's truly not been able to escape from. Even my dad who is incredibly well off and a staunch reform voter has been put off by it.

A northerner was the perfect choice to show Farage up 2bf. None of the metropolitan London elite cries apply.

It also doesn't help that alot of his voter base die off each year and with climate change, that'll just go quicker and quicker.

people make fun of andy burnham’s ‘normal bloke’ routine and focus on the north but that was exactly what gave nigel farage his political edge - he was the champion of the ‘ordinary bloke’ and the ‘forgotten about places’ of the UK however burnham has presented an alternative to that and is arguably doing it better than farage ever has

There was momentum in their direction in the dying days of the Tories, with it being expected that the Conservatives would split and many of the more hard-right Tories would go to Reform, splitting the right-wing vote more evenly than before. But that momentum has died away over the last two years, as Reform look increasingly sketchy, other far-right parties try to steal their share (like Restore), and their antics and rhetoric look increasingly ridiculous compared to bland Labour. They've tried to be the party of opposition, pushing the Tories out, but they've forgotten that the British are a deeply traditional people. The Tories thoroughly shat the bed, but they'd have needed to completely implode in order to be knocked out
