The husband said from day one he wanted to be with a partner that works. She didn't believe him or thought she could change his mind. He sounds like he's over this.

My husband was kind of like this- insisted on me working- but I was fine with that because I had a whole career before we met. After kids, l wanted to stay home for a couple years and we compromised that I c a ould drop down to part time. Considering I ended up with some post partum issues, this was probably a good move for me anyway. in retrospect, he wasn’t really making enough money to support us fully. My part time job actually provided health insurance for the whole family at a very reasonable cost of 400 a month because it was a govt job. Something he would not have been able to do. The point is- after all the discussion, it really came down to him worrying about stability. A two income household is more stable. Years later he lost his job and because of that choice I now have a nice full time gig that helped us get through that period of time. This long winded comment is to say that sometimes people who want a working spouse aren’t being jerks they are just paranoid about stability and the economy.

the perfect household has a stay home partner.... issue is, the working one must be responsible for the other for life, even if the working one decides to divorce..... but if the stay at home one wants to divorce without a good reason like cheating, then they are on their own
