@purascans: We scanned some of the most popular toothpastes — then scanned the clean alternative sitting a few feet away. Same aisle, very different labels. Colgate Optic White came back 40. On the label: CI 17200 (an artificial dye), SLS, and benzyl alcohol. Dr. Bronner's All-One scored 84 — no dye, a coconut-based cleanser, no added preservative. Crest 3D White scored 45 — SLS, Blue 1, and saccharin. hello's fluoride-free peppermint scored 81 — SLS-free, dye-free, sweetened with stevia. And Sensodyne Pronamel scored 54, flagged high concern for titanium dioxide, PEG-8, and saccharin. RiseWell's mineral toothpaste scored 82 — none of the three. None of this is about fluoride — dentists back that. It's about the extras: dyes, SLS, titanium dioxide, and PEG that don't need to be in there.
