Been there & done that. Never did find 7th & 8th gear. Glad I am still here to ride with my wife and plan long trips at a much more reasonable pace.

all I can do, is gently ask him not to ride faster than his guardian angel can fly. And hope my words got through the pain he is trying to out ride... brother, pain is but a tool, it lets you know the places within your soul that need the most love. pain isnt meant to be used as a place we unpack and stay in Trust me I know. after loosing my son to suicide last year, there was no place far enough , I could go, to get away from the pain. I had to instead learn to love me through the pain I'm still working on it.. but trying. you might see me cry, but YOU WILL NEVER SEE ME , LET THE HARD DAYS WIN. .. I'm thinking in that, we aren't so different after all.
