unless its 100% covered u can but its because ur pupil is expanded due to it bring dark but some of the suns uv rays are still exposed and are actively burning your retina because ur pupil is fully expanded when the sun is still hitting it

I learnt about it I kinda remember it’s like the corona from the sun still shines in ur eye and cus it’s covered it’s easier to look at so that mean that ur able to look at it but like ur looking at the sun normally u can get permanent eye damage

i think looking at a partial eclipse is just as dangerous as looking at the full sun at any other day. the normal time we resist looking directly at the sun is about 3 seconds without any eye damage however i’m guessing people want to look at the eclipse longer so that’s why we need extra protection

Coz when it goes dark ur pupils go bigger to take in the light but when the moon moves you get all the sun in ( do you understand)

It’s because even when there’s a full solar eclipse, it only lasts for about like a few seconds so it will burn your eyes real bad

looking at a solar eclipse can blind you because the concentrated sun rays burn the delicate light-sensitive cells in your retina yes it is painless but its called solar retinopathy it destroys your central vision and can become permanent within seconds so im not sure why its worse then looking just directly into the sun in general tho

Well it's a long story but basically too much energy coming from the sun because the moon is blocking the moon which magnifies the rest of the sun

bc of uv radiation and infrared. those arent visible to the human eye. so its still scattered in the surroundings we just cant see it whilst the moon is blocking the sun that is why when we look at it it wont hurt immediately like if we were looking at the sun. so whilst looking at the solar eclipse we might end up looking too long without realising its damaging our eyes. but with the sun normally u feel the pain whilst looking at it so u know when to look away so it doesnt cause permanent damage🫶🏼
