The apostrophe lip 👄 . I first describe this in my textbook chapter of the well regarded textbook for Plastic Surgeons “ Aesthetic Surgery of the Facial Skeleton“ Edited by Drs Stephen Baker, Jeffrey Weinzweig and Pravin K. Patel in 2021. By then, I had already performed the only method to correct this morphology and that is the Medialized Corner Lip Lift since 2015. Due to Social Media, I have seen this surgery get performed more and more by surgeons across the globe 🌎 . . It is a deceptively difficult operation especially with its planning. Indeed, as a testament to this fact, I am seeing increasing numbers of patients coming to me needing significant revisions from attempts at the surgery performed elsewhere. It took me many years to get consistent and reliably beautiful results with predictable scarring; in fact, I freely admit that only revisions I was doing 10 years ago were my own!.😬 . Anyway, onto this beautiful patient of mine. She had grown weary of getting filler in her 👄 lips to help correct her obvious Apostrophe lip which reminded me of Anya Taylor Joy 🤩 . so I performed a medial Isa external corner lip lift and strategic filler into her lower lip/chin junction to control the shadowing. I utilized a Caisson Method to provide support for the whole lower lip and improve the transition between that same structure and the chin below. She is over eight weeks out.
