im from lake county...it is destroyed. so many trees are completely uprooted and have fallen on houses. the flooding is insane...idk if you've seen the house that exploded in portage bc of a tree falling on their gas meter. it's just overall so devastating. i hope you're staying safe <3

When Michigan went through our derecho and straight line winds we were without power for a week. It prompted our family to start stocking enough water and supplies for a one week emergency. We also got a generator. We have a bin of board games and puzzles and we got a gas stove. It feels so good to be prepared.

I’m from MC and I was in Chicago when storm happened. On the way home I was in shock how many cities we passed that had no power. 😭

I had no idea you were so close to me. I’m in Schererville and thankfully I never lost power. But many of my friends have no power and the schools have all cancelled until Monday if not longer.

I’m just curious, why don’t you have any water? I’m in portage. Btw shout out to the workers in Meijer. They allowed people to charge up in there and even put power strips in the electric scooter area. I haven’t tried to get in the gas lines. Just surviving on less than 1/4 of a tank 🤷🏽♀️lol

We have a house in the east coast of Michigan, we didn’t want to contribute to the mass pile ups. 24 hours of no power we packed up and went to our other home. If you’re someone who has the money to panic and sell out gas and generators and groceries, consider driving a couple cities away and booking a hotel or Airbnb.
