Laughter doesn’t negate depression. One of the nicest kindest silliest most amazing humans I’ve ever known, nobody knew. He always cracked the jokes. He always made sure everybody else was ok. You were cold? He’d loan you his hoodie. You were crying he’d give you the BEST bear hug and do whatever he could to make you smile. He lost his own battle with depression. There’s levels of masking. At my lowest I still woke up smiled for my son went to work and contemplated why I still kept going because I was failing in every aspect. People with depression doesn’t mean you can’t smile and laugh
