@rjriveracoaching: If you encounter someone blaming our current state of affairs (middle class shrinking, cost of living greatly outpacing wages, wealth gap rapidly increasing, etc) on what they call “end-stage” or “late-stage” capitalism… Please understand that they are parroting people who have been thoroughly programmed by central bankers and have absolutely no clue what’s actually going on. Capitalism- AKA a free market- is NOT the reason why this mindset, this need for constant never-ending expansion has pervaded our culture. Fiat- debt based currency is. Because when money is created from Debt, that money is owed back with interest. But guess what?! The money needed to pay the interest hasn’t been created yet. You know what that means? Yup- we have to create it! And in a debt based fiat currency system the only way to create money is.. you guessed it- take on more debt! And that debt also has an interest rate, money that is required to be paid back but still doesn’t exist. So the cycle repeats, and repeats, and repeats. It’s an absolutely INSANE system, and it’s the reason why Henry Ford said that if the general public actually understood how our monetary system works- there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. Please stop blaming capitalism for our problems as a society. We don’t live in a pure capitalist system. Because in a TRULY free market- there is no “too big to fail”. In a TRULY free market- there are no bailouts. You deal with the consequences of your own greed and bad decisions. Please understand that when a few men have the power to print money and devalue our currency on a whim- THAT IS NOT A FREE MARKET!! Capitalism is not the problem. The thing is that the problems we see today, while not caused by a hypothetical free market are all problems that are downstream of the economic system as a whole. FIAT currency was created by the demand for ever increasing growth and profit by capitalism. As long as you have a system maximizing profit, and have not solved the falling rate of profit you are going to have a system that degrades and eats away at its society for more profit until it has destroyed it.

it's a product of government in the market. But the government went into the market because the market was negatively impacting the people. now the market has shifted to consolidation instead of innovation which is preventing the free market from fixing the issue. That's late stage capitalism. how we got here I think is less important than how we turn it around
