not to defend Flair, but why are you saying you just hold your helmets or luggage? it has to be stowed in the overhead bin or under the seat just like a suitcase/backpack would.

Just yesterday when I checked in for my flight online, I added a carry on bag. the charge was $95.03, whatever, fine. my credit card company texts me to confirm the charge before putting it through, I do and then flair put through a charge of $190.06. I got on the help line and they were like "I did a review and that charge is valid". uh, what? I literally have the amount I confirmed from my bank. nope, can't give a refund. 🙄

This is common knowledge no? About the ticket being cheap but then charge like 25K per bag. And they’re very strict about having a “personal/carry on or any other items just like the helmets. It’s not surprising to me at all. If you’re flying flair, you bring a backpack and that’s it. lol

These airlines just keep getting stingier and stingier with the actual service and we are expected to pay money like we all have it. Canada needs to do something about this airline crisis. It’s so unfair that you have to be rich rich to do any kinda travelling as a Canadian.

My brother has a physical disability and anytime he has to ask to change seats… because he’s entitled to. They try to charge him. They tell him they can’t accommodate him. I have no idea how this company is still running.

I have a friend that uses them regularly from Halifax to Kitchener. Often for 2 or 3 days to see her son. She uses flare. She has never had good luck with them. Often times they have cancelled the flight and scheduled it for when she was supposed to return. They don’t offer refunds so often she’s been out the money because the changes they made she wasn’t able to go. For the little bit extra fly westjet. To charge this much for helmets seems excessive

Flair ended up not being cheaper than other airlines and everything about it was horrible when my daughter and I flew YWG to YYZ and back in July. NEVER, EVER again..

Ever since their planes were repossessed a few years back on March break I refuse to use flair! They are horrible! And I was never refunded for that trip!!! They left us stranded in Toronto!

Experienced something similar on flight to Mexico last month. But discrepancy between luggage size in Vancouver vs. Mexico. Wanted to charge me for bigger luggage but no issue when departing in YVR. I argued with the agent in Mexico and luckily she backed off but they were trying to upcharge me for the exact same luggage I departed with. Go figure…😒

flair is nickle and diming bad. flew to YVR to yyz and my carry on was fine, YVR to yyc and it was determined "too big". same bag, same size. I don't fly flair anymore cuz they're just looking at trying to get money any way they can

Those helmets are huge. But if you do hold them then I don’t see a problem. They probably assume you’re trying to put them in the overhead luggage.

I wonder if the gate agents/flight attendants get a commission every time they upcharge the passengers. Flair is the worst airlines!! I've flown with them once and that was enough for me! And the flight attendants are so damn rude!! Anytime I look for a flight, even if flair is cheaper, I'd rather book with other airlines and pay more than deal with their "hidden fees" and the entitlement rude attitude from the flight attendants! There should be some code of conduct as an airline and its employees.
