I still remember how SICK I felt at the thought of going back to work after my first maternity leave. I just wasn't ready. I wanted more time with my little girl... But wanting more time and actually being able to AFFORD more time were two completely different things. So I went back. Because at the time, I genuinely felt like I didn't have another option. And when I found out I was pregnant again, I knew one thing... I didn't want to feel like that again! This time I wanted to at least give myself the chance to create another option. So completely out of my comfort zone, I started learning about digital products and Canva. Things like planners, invitations, templates, courses.. I had NO experience. No following. And I definitely didn't have loads of spare time as a mum 😂 So I started with ready-made products while I learnt how everything worked, built my confidence and gradually started creating my own too. I genuinely had no idea where it would lead. I just knew I'd rather TRY something than get to the end of another maternity leave wishing I had. And that decision has completely changed what returning to work looks like for me 🥹 It helped me extend my time at home. Build savings. Travel! And when I DID decide to return to work... I was able to massively reduce my hours. So now instead of rushing out the door to work... I get mornings like this 🥹😭 And to think I was almost too scared to start. If you're pregnant or on maternity leave and the thought of going back before you're ready is already playing on your mind... You DO have other options!
