During Tokyo Ghoul:re, Akira becomes connected to the Quinx Squad and continues working within the CCG. Her relationship with Haise Sasaki is particularly important because she recognizes qualities in him that remind her of the people she has lost. She becomes protective of the Quinx members and gradually takes on a more caring role. One of Akira's most significant relationships is with Seidou Takizawa. Before his transformation, Takizawa was a CCG investigator who admired Akira and worked alongside her. After he is captured and transformed into an artificial one-eyed ghoul, their relationship becomes much more complicated.
