Hekate Ritual Oil. This is what I used, in this order: Dragon's blood, rose petals, dandelion root, charcoal, and a few ash leaves. I grind everything with a mortar and pestle, then add a thorny rose twig, a piece of rose root to be kept whole, and a small tuft of crow feathers. I add olive oil and, lastly, 3 blackthorn thorns and a few drops of peppermint essential oil. This is an oil I use to open channels of communication with spirits, consecrate ritual tools, mark points of access within the ritual space, and seal a ritual. It can also be used to anoint candles and draw sigils. * Rose Flower: Offering, remembrance, attraction and calling of spirits * Rose Root: Connection to what lies beneath, opening the way to the unseen * Thorny Rose Twig: Boundaries, protection and control during spirit communication * Dandelion Root: Stimulates vision and clairvoyance * Ash Leaves: The key to communication between worlds, direction and control * Blackthorn Thorns (Whole): Authority, primal strength * Small Tuft of Crow Feathers: Messenger, useful for focusing and directing the message * Dragon's Blood: Protects and strengthens the intention * Powdered Charcoal: Anchors and seals the evoked energy * Peppermint Oil: Awakening and purification It is extremely important that all plant materials are dry and not fresh, otherwise the oil will spoil immediately. If possible, store the oil in a dark glass container, or keep it covered and in the dark, for about 2 weeks before using it. The final result will be a fairly thick, black oil with quite a strong fragrance.
